Don’t draw unneeded attention to yourself
Yes, it is fine to go crazy during Spring Break and have the time of your life. Be outgoing, and make as many friends as possible. This doesn’t mean, however, that you should draw negative attention to yourself. If you’re hammered, or your friends are, don’t be so obnoxious about it that the local police have reason to stop you. There’s no need to be screaming in the street or starting arguments or fights. If you’re in a foreign country as well, the last thing you want is to be thrown in their jail. These people deal with annoying Spring Breakers every year, so they don’t really care about you, and are probably looking for any reason to pounce on you. Just mind your own business and have fun!
Wear protection
Sunblock and condoms. Sunblock is going to be important because you could ruin your week without it. Bad burns, blisters, and sun poisoning are real, especially when you’ve been holed up all winter. Don’t ruin your week because you got so obliterated you forgot to slather some on and pass out in the sun. Put it on before you leave your hotel room. Lack of a condom might not ruin your week, but your life. Hooking up is a great part of Spring Break, but be smart. You have no idea what that random you just slept with has been through, or better yet, WHO they have been through. No need to take unwanted surprises back home with you from Spring Break 2016
Use a bus over a cab
You are most likely going to need to take transportation at some point. If you are in a foreign country, it’s fine to take a cab during the day to get around town, but try to avoid them late at night after leaving the bars. Busses are more visible, cheaper, and generally safer to get you to your destination at home because of the numbers of others just like you utilizing it. Cabs are known to rip off drunk Spring Breakers, as well as the fact you have no idea who you are getting in a car with.
Follow hotel rules
This seems like common sense, but it’s unbelievable how many people don’t follow it, and it ruins their week. You can have a ridiculously awesome Spring Break without breaking every single rule under the sun. Remember, the hotels aren’t out to get you. They want you to rage and have as much fun as possible, so you come back the following year and bring more friends. They are catering to your week, so make them happy and follow their rules. They deal with drunken shenanigans all week, so don’t add to the issues. They will throw awesome parties for you, so take advantage of that.
Don’t climb balconies
This one is a part of the hotel rules, as well as not drawing attention to yourself, but it needed its own section. Every year people think that it’s funny and quicker to room hop in their hotel by climbing from balcony to balcony. While it may seem easy to you, after your 7th Fireball shot, your judgment and athleticism starts to go out the window. Every year you hear of people falling from the balconies and getting seriously injured or being thrown out of their hotel for the week because they got caught. The last thing you need is to be roomless the second day into Spring Break and not be able to find another hotel with vacancy so last minute.
