Alternative Spring Break Ideas: Volunteer!

The student life is the easy life. No work, no worries, just getting to know the world and getting to know yourself. There’s nothing but time on your hands, infinite experiences to enjoy, fears to conquer and new people to meet. Many people will agree that it’s a great idea to do as much as you can while you’re still a student – before you get sucked into what everyone calls “the real world” (whatever that is). The more you do, the more you learn and the more likely you will experience everything our world has to offer as well as find an appreciation and gratitude for possessing the ability to just be.

A single week off from school during Spring Break is enough time to actually have the time of your life. There are plenty of opportunities for those who want to get the most out of their Spring Break vacation. Participating in humanitarian work and becoming community service volunteers during your time off is how to do something that most people will never have the opportunity to experience, grow from and enjoy.

Certain organizations offer travel and housing for those students who are looking to travel the world and help out in other countries. Plus, taking part in activist work looks great on a resume and may even help you earn scholarships and international recognition. So, if you’re interested in trekking the globe, below is a list of organizations that provide information on how to become volunteers for those in need.
