That’s right folks, Coachella time has arrived. The infamous spring music festival in California is upon us, and this year is slated to be one of the best yet. With artists from literally every genre you can imagine, there is something for everyone to enjoy, besides the nonstop party that pairs with it. Two weekends of ridiculousness. Now, most people aren’t going to both weekends, mostly for the sheer fact that your body simply cannot take that much abuse, but you still need to know what to pack for your four day weekend of fun. Trust us, one weekend is more than enough. So without further ado, here is your 2016 packing list for Coachella, and the essential items to make sure you have the time of your life.
This is the most essential item you need. Sure, the entire event is a party full of booze and other substances, but don’t underestimate the power of water. You never know what the weather is going to bring this time of year in California, and the last thing you want to be is hungover and in the beating sun all day without that quality H2O. No matter if you think you’re bringing enough water, bring more. You will regret it if you don’t. Not to mention you can use it for brushing your teeth, cleaning things, and sharing with those that were goons and didn’t pack enough. Be smart and chug away.
Going along with the water, the sun can be brutal, especially when you’re sitting in it all day. Everyone wants a nice tan, but you don’t want to fry to the point where the rest of the weekend is miserable. Be smart and slather on a coat before the heavy partying begins for the day.
Selfie sticks may be denied, but the GoPro is still a must. How better to capture your entire weekend than with the best adventure camera there is? Snapchat can only do so much, and it disappears. GoPros can take awesome pictures, and have tons of storage and filters to capture the insanity of the weekend.
Phone Charger (Portable)
We all know none of us can live without our phones. Not only are our heads buried in social media, at Coachella you are going to need it to keep in touch with your friends since this festival is massive. The service may be terrible from all the people using it, but you will absolutely be on your phone more than enough. Going 10 hours without a plug in can be brutal. Although there are designated spots to plug your phone in, as you can expect, they are typically always packed with people. Invest in a portable phone charger to get you through, it will be well worth it.
Self explanatory. You are going to an intense music festival. You will be getting little sleep. Your head is going to pound with or without it, but it will certainly help. Pack a bottle or two, or else that first couple beers every morning are going to be a bit tougher to slam down.
There a million games you can bring, so we will give you a few good ideas. There is certainly going to be plenty of music happening at all times, but there are going to be plenty of moments you want to hang by the campsite and make friends, and having games is a great thing to pass the time and enjoy the vibes. Cornhole is a great one, and worth it. Ladder golf as well, just watch out for car windows! The staples of flip cup and beer pong need to be played as well. In all, toss on some tunes and set up the games and people will want to join your mini party.
Common sense here, but we couldn’t NOT put it on the list! Pack enough booze to get you through the weekend. Whatever you think you might need, add a little more. You aren’t going to want to be the guy that has to make the beer run. Also, try to keep it as much plastic as possible, no glass!
