You Can Eat And Drink Without Consequences

You’re young, you’re supposed to get hammered at 4pm and eat 5 slices of pizza and not worry about gaining weight. Just think, if you are in a foreign land, this is even more acceptable. When you’re 40 years old, that 2 day bender will literally ruin your entire next week, and probably make a dent in your kid’s college fund. This is the time to experience slamming saki from different countries, and not having to worry about what may happen. Roll with the punches. You can eat that spicy thai food without having a 52 year old intestine that will explode on impact.

You Have The Rest Of Your Life To Work And Stress

Think about this for a second, the average age of retirement in the U.S. is 61. That means if you’re 21 years old, you still have 40 YEARS to be miserable at work and stress about bills and life. Why rush into that right away and want to splatter your brains all over the wall of your office cubicle by the time you’re 28? Take some time and enjoy life for what it is, because at some point you will get locked down with a career, and wish that you had said, “screw it” when you were younger. Don’t stress now, rip down German beers, in Germany, with real Germans.

You Will Never Look Better In A Bathing Suit

You’re at the point in your life where you’re reaching the peak of your body, so let it run wild. Nobody likes to see the 42 year old FUPA with bingo wings hanging on the beach in a two piece, so flaunt it now. Even if you don’t work hard for your body, chances are that you still look better showing some skin than a 38 year old mother of 4.

You Can Do It For Cheap

When you don’t have kids, a ton of bills stacked up, and less cares, you can travel for cheap. When you get older and you have a bad back, sleeping on a hostel cot is not going to be appealing. While you’re still young, you can travel for so cheap because you are willing to give up luxuries, and you most likely are poor as every anyway being a college student, that you’re used to living minimally. You’d be surprised how far $500 can get you in a foreign land as a young traveler.

You Can Do Crazy Things

Do Crazy ThingsWhen you get older, anything crazy you do will come back to bite you in one way or another. When you’re still young and have less obligations, these things can run free. You have the time to forget them later in life if you do something like party so hard your eyeballs fall out of your head and you end up in a French hospital. Not to say you can’t party when you’re 45, but your wife and kids might not be too happy when you stumble home with two random broads hanging on your arm. Get that out of your system now, that’s what your 20’s are for.

Nothing Major Is Holding You Back

You haven’t started your career yet, you don’t have kids, mortgages, or severe ties anywhere. You’re friends will most likely still be there whenever you get back, and home is always home. Even if money is a concern, once you save enough to just get to point A, you can figure it out from there. Part of the fun of traveling, is not knowing what is coming next. Nothing huge is stopping you, so what are you waiting for?
