Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic is one of the hottest Spring Break destinations because of the perfect weather, awesome nightlife, and insane day parties. It has everything you could ask for from hot bodies to stiff drinks available to smash, as well as top artists performing for ragers from across the country, and even world. Most people go to Punta Cana anywhere from 5-7 nights, and party hard the entire time. The only issue is, if you are going for 7 nights, that is a lot of 24/7 partying, even for the most intense drinkers. It can be advisable to take one day off and do something different, after-all, you paid all that money to be in a tropical paradise, you might as well take advantage of it. There are some awesome day excursions besides just a raging booze cruise that you can do around Punta Cana, and we will give you three that are worth it. Don’t worry, you will be back in time to hit the late rounds of body shots at the pool bar!
Half-Day Dune Buggy
If you are going to take a day off, hitting up an intense dune buggy around the island is the way to go. You can go for half a day, so you don’t miss happy hour at the bar. You get picked up and dropped off at your hotel for the excursion, and if you can drive a stick shift, get ready to rip through the beaches, farmland, and plantations. It is a heck of a way to spend your day.
Day Cruise with Snorkeling
Since you are in the crystal clear warm waters, in a tropical paradise, it would be a shame to not hit up some snorkeling. There are plenty of day cruises that last between 3-5 hours and when you get to the destination, you snorkel it up and check out the marine life. Usually beverages are included so you can get a little bit of a buzz on as well so when you get back to the pool, you aren’t so far behind everyone else.
Catamaran Cruise to Saona Island
Saona Island is a beautiful small island off the coast of Punta Cana, and taking a catamaran there is the way to see it. You can booze on board throughout the trip, and when you get to the island it might be nice to relax on the perfect caribbean beach for a few hours while taking a breather from the wet t-shirt contests and chugging competitions back on the mainland. Eat some BBQ on the island, and mentally prepare yourself to head back to the wildness. This is your rest day, take advantage of it!
